In a game-changing move for immigration and employers across Ontario, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has announced the launch of a brand-new digital Employer Portal set to go live on July 2, 2025. This bold upgrade will completely transform how employment positions are submitted and how applicants engage with the system—ushering in a more employer-driven process for key immigration streams.
What’s Changing: From Paper Chaos to Digital Clarity
Forget the old, clunky, paper-based system. Starting next month, employers will no longer need to fill out static PDF forms or rely on applicants to initiate the process.
Instead, Ontario is introducing a secure, online Employer Portal—designed to simplify, modernize, and empower businesses to take the lead in nominating foreign talent through OINP’s Employer Job Offer streams.
Key Features of the New OINP Employer Portal
Based on stakeholder feedback, the Employer Portal offers several critical improvements:
- Seamless login via MyOntario for centralized access to services
- Employers submit applications online rather than through static forms
- Direct communication between employers and OINP officials
- Secure upload functionality for supporting documents
- Auto-filled fields to reduce errors and duplication
- Ability to assign employer contacts and authorized representatives
- Simplified progress tracking for applications
This portal transforms the process into an employer-led model, which is expected to increase accuracy and reduce application bottlenecks.
Required Action: Re-Register EOIs
To implement this change, the OINP will temporarily pause and reset several system functions:
- June 20 to July 2, 2025: New EOIs for Employer Job Offer streams cannot be submitted.
- June 21–22, 2025: All existing EOIs under Employer Job Offer streams will be automatically withdrawn.
- June 27 to June 29, 2025: The OINP system will be completely offline; applicants will not be able to access applications, submit new ones, or register EOIs.
- July 2, 2025: The new Employer Portal launches. Employers can begin submitting job offer details, enabling applicants to re-register their EOIs.
Once the portal is live, employers will have to re-enter job information in the system to trigger an applicant’s re-registration. New EOIs submitted through this system will remain valid for 12 months.
Streams Affected by the EOI Reset
- Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream
- Employer Job Offer: International Student stream
- Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream
Applicants who had EOIs in the system must coordinate with their employers to ensure a timely re-registration after July 2.
Why This Matters
The Employer Portal is not just a technological update—it is a fundamental redesign of how immigration job offers are handled in Ontario. It promises:
- A streamlined experience for employers
- Reduced duplication and manual errors
- Quicker processing times and real-time tracking
- Increased accountability through employer-led initiation
For applicants, this means fewer delays, better coordination with sponsoring employers, and a more transparent nomination process.
Final Notes
- Employers should prepare now by gathering all necessary job offer details and designating internal contacts to use the new portal.
- Applicants should stay in touch with their employers and be ready to re-register EOIs as soon as the portal goes live.
We’ll continue to monitor updates from the OINP and provide walkthroughs and FAQs once the Employer Portal becomes active.
