Effective November 5, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has deleted the “Forms related to permanent residence” page from its instructions. Canadians and newcomers looking to apply for permanent residence must now reference the single, central Find an IRCC application package or form page.
What’s Changed?
- Old Page Deleted: The special instructions page listing permanent residence forms is gone.
- Centralized Forms: Now, if you need any application or form—for permanent residence, extensions, renewals, or other immigration needs—you’ll go to one main IRCC forms page.
- Easy to Find: The centralized page makes it simple for everyone to find the correct and most up-to-date forms for all application types, reducing confusion and mistakes.
Where to Find Forms Now:
- Visit the Find an IRCC application package or form page for everything you need.
Permanent Residence Program Remains Unchanged for Applicants
The process and policies around becoming a permanent resident haven’t changed—just where to find the forms. Permanent residence programs still include economic classes like Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Program, and family/humanitarian streams. IRCC continues to process:
- Economic applications (skilled workers, business immigrants, pilots)
- Family reunification (spouse, partner, child, adoptions)
- Humanitarian & compassionate programs (protected persons, special pathways, PR for health workers, victims’ families, and more)
Permanent residents must still hold a valid PR card or Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) to travel and must meet residency requirements to maintain status.

- Double-check you have the latest version of any form before you submit.
- Read updated instructions for your application—including economic, family, and humanitarian classes.
