BC PNP Issues 473 ITAs Across Skills Immigration Jul 2026

The BC Provincial Nominee Program issued a new round of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) on July 9, 2026. This draw targeted candidates in the Skills Immigration registration pool across five streams: Childcare, Health, Veterinary Care, Construction Trades, and High Economic Impact. If you are registered in the BC PNP pool, log into your BC PNP Online User Profile to check whether you received an invitation.

A total of 473 invitations went out in this round. Each stream had its own minimum score and eligible occupations. The scores and numbers below come directly from the IRCC immigration overview and the BC PNP program. Read through carefully to understand exactly where you stand.

What Each Stream Requires

The Care: Childcare stream is the most selective by score in this draw. You needed a minimum of 108 points, and only early childhood educators qualified. This is not a general childcare worker category. You must hold a recognized early childhood educator designation in British Columbia to be considered. Ninety-one candidates received invitations through this stream.

The Care: Health stream was broader. All priority health care occupations were eligible, and the minimum score was 96. This is a lower bar than Childcare, which reflects BC's urgent need for health workers across a wide range of roles. One hundred and sixteen invitations went out here, making it the second-largest group in this draw.

The Care: Veterinary Care stream had the lowest minimum score at 88, but it also issued the fewest invitations. Fewer than 5 candidates were selected overall. Two groups qualified: workers in all priority veterinary care occupations, and specifically animal health technologists and veterinary technicians under NOC 32104 who hold a valid professional designation. If you fall into that NOC code, that designation is not optional. Without it, your registration will not qualify under this stream.

The Build: Construction Trades stream required a minimum score of 97 and covered all priority construction occupations. This was the largest care-sector draw in terms of invitations, with 136 candidates selected. BC continues to prioritize trades workers as housing and infrastructure projects demand more skilled labour across the province.

The Innovate: High Economic Impact stream works differently from the others. There is no points-based minimum score listed. Instead, candidates must meet two wage thresholds: a minimum of $62 per hour and $125,000 per year. Your occupation must also fall under NOC skill levels 0, 1, 2, or 3. Despite having no score floor, 130 invitations were issued, making this the second-largest stream by volume in the July 9 draw.

How the BC PNP Selection Process Works

The BC PNP does not run draws on a fixed schedule. The program issues ITAs periodically, and each draw targets specific streams based on British Columbia's current labour market priorities. You register your profile in the BC PNP pool and wait for an invitation. Your score is calculated from your registration details, including your occupation, education, work experience, language scores, and whether you have a confirmed job offer in BC.

Getting an ITA is not an approval. It means you are invited to submit a full Skills Immigration application. Once you receive the invitation, you must submit your complete application within a set window. Missing that deadline means losing the invitation entirely. You would need to remain in the pool and wait for another draw in which your score is competitive.

To check if you received an ITA from the July 9 draw, log in directly to your BC PNP Online User Profile. IRCC does not send these notifications by email in all cases. Checking your profile is the only reliable way to confirm your status. You can also review current processing timelines through the IRCC processing times tool to understand what comes after a provincial nomination.

If your score did not meet the minimum in this round, do not update your profile with inaccurate information. Instead, focus on legitimate ways to improve your score, such as improving your language test result, gaining additional work experience in BC, or securing a valid job offer. The BC PNP program page on canada.ca covers the provincial nominee pathway and can help you understand how a nomination connects to your permanent residence application.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How many total invitations were issued on July 9, 2026?
Across all five streams, at least 473 invitations were issued. The Veterinary Care stream contributed fewer than 5, so the precise total is slightly above 473.

Do I need a job offer to qualify for the High Economic Impact stream?
The source text specifies wage thresholds of $62 per hour and $125,000 per year, along with NOC levels 0, 1, 2, or 3. The BC PNP program page on the provincial government website has the full eligibility details for this stream.

What happens after I receive a BC PNP nomination?
A provincial nomination gives you 600 points toward your Express Entry CRS score. That effectively guarantees an ITA from IRCC in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw. You then apply for permanent residence through the federal system.

Can I be in the BC PNP pool and Express Entry at the same time?
Yes. Many candidates register in the BC PNP Skills Immigration pool while also maintaining an active Express Entry profile. These two systems run in parallel.
